An Anchor

Picture of a statue of Mary with an anchor nearby.

While taking a chair lift to Monte Solaro in Anacapri, Italy, I noticed a hodgepodge or interesting items in yards along the ride.

One such interesting mix of items was a shrine to Mary with an anchor hanging from a tree.

Sometimes everyone needs an anchor, and if Mary needed an anchor she had one nearby.

Play Two!

Harry Caray in the 1980's, waving to the crowd.

Baseball is back! It’s been a long road, and hopefully the road won’t hit another detour!

Let’s enjoy it, and if we you can get the change playing something you love in your life, play it again!

At the Ready

A foul pole waiting to say "Home run!"

I still don’t understand why they are called “foul poles.” I mean, if you hit the pole, or that fence thingy on it, you get a home run.

Why aren’t they called “Home Run Poles!”

In any case, that pole is ready at all times to do its job. Be like the “Home Run” pole and be ready to do what you are meant to do!

Rise to the Challenge

Sun rising over a baseball field.

The ballfields are ready for play!

As exciting as that can be we all need to remember that we have to still play safely. Yes, social distance, wear your mask, and play the game safely so that you can have fun and we can all enjoy it.

If you don’t, the ballfields will still be there, but you won’t.

Neighborly Smiles

Picture of a smiley mug with flowers on a fence post. Share a Smile With Your Neighbors.

While on a walk the other day I noticed that one of the neighbors glues a smiley mug to a fence post, and kept flowers in the mug.

It’s really hard to keep that bad mood when you are walking past their yard.

Your neighbors might need a smile right now. Go ahead and figure out a way to share one.

Be Tickled Green

A hot air balloon in the shape of a frog, smiling. Let your smile tickle you green.

I know the saying is to be “tickled pink,” but looking at he picture of the hot air balloon, or the happy frog, maybe it isn’t so bad to be “tickled green.”

Times aren’t the easiest, but find time to smile and be “tickled green!”

Little Smiles

Picture of a small smile button. Little Smiles Can Be Cool.

I saw this little button of a smiley face with sunglasses on the tennis courts in a park near our house.

I felt a little bummed for the person who lost the button, but just seeing the “cool smiley” brought a little smile to my face.

Give a little smile today. Be cool.

Soar

Have a soaring 4th of July Weekend!

Yes, it’s a weird year, what with the Covid and all, but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate.

It’s the 4th of July weekend. Celebrate safely so we can get through the rest of the year and get 2021 into the new normal of maybe 2019.

Look Differently

Look at Things From a Different Point of View

Taking pictures, at times, I like to look at things from a different angle. A lot of times that angle is straight up.

Many times we just see things straight on, but do yourself a favor and look at things differently. You might be surprised at what you see.

Thanks for stopping by! Keep being awesome and inspired!
