Nature Knows

Nature Knows When It Is Time to Open Up

Everyone thinks they know when it is safe to open the world back up from the coronavirus. Most of those people are politicians and business folk.

Scientists seem to have a grasp of when it makes sense, but nature will really be the one who tells us when it is time to open up, when it is safe, and when life will be beautiful again.

Maybe we should listen a little more to nature these days.

Some Animals Don't Have to Social Distance

I guess I’m on a “Staying Safe” kick this week with my pictures.

Yup, ducks don’t have to social distance. In fact, trying to get them to accomplish that is probably way more difficult to get us to social distance. Well, maybe.

Spikes in Covid are happening. Is it the relaxing of social distancing, or just the Coronavirus menace?

No matter the spike, does it hurt to social distance a little while longer?

Keep Your Social Distance

Keep Your Social Distance

Look, I know it’s hard, we all want to be together, but nature is testing us to stay apart a little while longer. Yoda and Darth Vader have figure it out, at least balloon versions, so why can’t we?

Yes, this too shall pass, or so they say, there will be a vaccine the anti-vaxxers will say Bill Gates is behind but other will have no issue with getting, and years from now there will probably be another pandemic and people will forget things like social distancing and wearing masks might help, even just a little.

For now it probably doesn’t hurt to try the social distancing a while longer, even through the summer, and even try a mask. What will it really hurt?

It’s Okay to Cry

Nature's Wall of Tears at Mt. Waialeale.

There is a spot on Kauai, Hawaii, called the Wall of Tears. It is at Mt. Waialeale, and mostly seen by helicopter. When there is rain there are tears.

We were lucky enough to see the tears when we visited, but part of me thinks nature is sad about a lot of things right now.

It’s okay, there are times when it is okay to cry.

Follow the Rules

Sometimes Follow the Rules

You might not agree with them, but sometimes, when all is said and done, it really is best to follow the rules.

Maybe that rule is to not mow, maybe you are supposed to wear a mask, what about your seatbelt?

Yes, there are rules, and sometimes, for the benefit of all, and the benefit of you, you should follow them.

Take it Slow

Go ahead, take it slow.

On land turtles seem to go at, well, a turtle’s pace. We all know about the story of the tortoise and the hare, how slow and steady let the turtle win the race against the spastic rabbit.

Yes, there are times when immediacy is necessary, but most of the times you can take your time. Being frantic doesn’t make you fast.

Smile – Fake It If You Have To

Smile with everything you've got

Some are having bad days, some are having good days, but sometimes there is one thing that can help any day, just smile.

It may not be easy, especially with all that is happening, but try, fake it if you have to, and you might find your thoughts a little bit brighter.

Scary Things

Scary Things

Sometimes you have to looker a little closer to see the scary things out there. Other times the scary things are staring you right in the face.

The key is to take a minute to really look. Don’t be surprised by the dangers, be ready, and do something to make a change in your path if you need to.

Beautiful Things

Beautiful Things

There is a lot of turmoil in life right now. Between the virus that infects our bodies and the virus that ruins our souls, it can seem like the waves just keep crashing into us.

There are, however, beautiful things around amongst the waves, you just have to look for them.

Yes, find the beautiful things.

Don’t Be Afraid

Don't be afraid to come out of your comfort zone.

Many times we get stuck. We feel like life is passing us by.

It’s okay to switch things up every now and then. Ask for a discount at the coffee shop, smile more, say hello to a stranger. If it feels uncomfortable maybe give it a try, you might be surprised a the result.
